Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Overview

The Human Resources Generalist will play a critical role in supporting tasks related to talent management and acquisition (e.g., recruitment, applicant screening, selection, and employment processing). The HR Generalist will also ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the HR Talent Management area, handling tasks related to the employee lifecycle such as hiring, onboarding, new hire orientation, employee engagement, training and career development, performance management, as well as offboarding. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Talent Acquisition, Recruitment & Onboarding
• Handle the recruitment processes for all corporate openings. Collaborate with the HR team and Hiring Managers to source candidates, post positions, and prescreen candidates for required qualifications.
• Schedule and facilitate interviews, respond to inquiries from candidates and work closely with Hiring Managers to provide recruitment updates.
• Partner with Hiring Managers to develop, review and maintain up to date job descriptions.
• Ensure Hiring Managers understand best interview practices with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Manage all administrative tasks to successfully onboard new hires, including background and reference checks.
• Facilitate new hire orientation.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a successful 30-60-90 day onboarding employee experience, including 30-60-90 day plans and check-ins for new hires.

 

Employee Engagement / Training / HR-Related Functions
• Support employee engagement initiatives and activities.
• Assist the annual performance management and merit increase process.
• Process transactions for new hires / promotions/ transfers and terminations.
• Manage offboarding processes, including exit surveys.
• Help organize departmental learning and development initiatives and trainings.
• Design/create spreadsheets, run reports, create new ways of compiling data including surveys.
• Assist with administration of employee matters as needed.
• Maintain electronic employee files and records.
• Keep abreast of labor laws.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
• Serve as a resource, advocate, and catalyst for sustainability at The Durst Organization. Apply the skills unique to your core job responsibilities for practical integration of sustainability into processes, standard operating procedures, and adopted business practices. Seek to empower our colleagues, consultants, tenants and residents to prioritize and actively engage in environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

• 5+ years of related experience in HR, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong understanding of HR principles and practices, experience supporting employee relations, including familiarity with employment and labor practices.
• Ability to act with integrity, a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
• Must be resourceful, organized and strong attention to detail with the ability to establish priorities and excellent time management skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
• An analytical mindset including an excel proficiency and ability to analyze, organize, and use data
• Highly proficient in applications within MS Office Suite with the ability to create forms and surveys.
• Solid understanding of, and experience with employment law, affirmative action/EEO compliance, and diversity initiatives.
• Knowledge of UltiPro/UKG, ICims, or other HR related software a plus
• Credited HR certification a plus
