Overview

The Durst Organization is seeking a Security Officer II to work the following shift :

 

Monday- Friday from 11:00pm-7:00am

 

This position is a Local 32BJ union position and will be based at the Midtown Security Command Center. 

 

The rate of pay for this position is $23.53 per hour.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Security Officer II –Command Center provide technical support, disseminate information, and operate camera systems within the identified Command Center. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Acknowledging and answering alarms; relaying communications from manager or security officer in emergency situations and contacting emergency agencies regarding onsite incidents.
  • Monitoring surveillance systems for operational readiness; troubleshooting video feed and downloading video for archiving; contacting vendors regarding system maintenance and malfunctions.
  • Constant visual surveillance of all tenants, guest and other security personnel.
  • Providing technical information and reporting on activities that impact the building and surrounding area;
  • Reporting on technical information and activities that impact the building; relaying information to the Property Management Office, Engineering Department and cleaning services; dispatching the proper personnel to resolve building issues (e.g. engineers, elevator technicians, cleaning personnel);
  • Handling AWARE (or other identified system) work tickets and opening locations for contractor access to tenant spaces.
  • Acknowledging and conducting radio checks and transmissions.
  • Assisting with tenant, contractor and Durst employee badges, as necessary; handling access levels and deactivating badges as directed by Security Managers.
  • Coordinating drills with Fire Safety Directors.
  • Assisting in basic investigations requested by either tenants or property management.
  • Providing professional and courteous customer service to tenants and guests.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers including but not limited to:
    • Current New York State Security Guard License required
    • Current AED/CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Working knowledge of camera surveillance, access control and building systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow specified security protocols
  • Must have a technical aptitude and willingness to learn how to perform security x-ray and screening procedure and use required equipment
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and comply with regulations, correspondence as well as complete forms and reports as required;
  • Should have prior knowledge of or willing to learn security related software applications
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications or authorizations specified for the assigned account.
